MechWarrior Zane was a MechWarrior with the typical build of his phoenotype. Superb physique with little body fat and highly honed muscles. He had short, straight black hair and a blunt nose on a moslty indistinctive face, with the exception of his startling green eyes.

MechWarrior Zane was among the Nova Cats warriors who fought other Clans to protect the Nova Cat civilians so they could escape Annihilation and head to the Inner Sphere. He was also among the very few of his Galaxy of Nova Cat warriors to survive the horrible ordeal.

MechWarrior Zane was not the best 'Mech pilot, but he had strong beliefs in the Nova Cat ways, and what he thought it was to be a Nova Cat warrior. His feelings were even stronger than with many other Nova Cat warriors. But he had great difficulty understanding and accepting the changes and new ways of the Nova Cat Clan, including fighting for the inner Sphere against other Clans, moving to the Inner Sphere and risking so many lives in the act, and then working alongside with people of the Inner Sphere rather than leading them.

MechWarrior Zane's frustrations with what he believed in and thought was wrong, and his desire to preserve the Nova Cat ways constantly got him into duels and scuffles which he usually lost. Friends and superiors would try to counsel him, but he usually could not understand what they said and had difficulty accepting a lot it.

Eventually MechWarrior Zane had a vision. Eventually it was that vision, and the continued talks with his friends that he finally began to understand the meaning of why the Clans returned to the Inner Sphere and to understand these new ways of thinking in Clan Nova Cat what was going on, and gain a little clue on the new threats the Nova Cats face in the Inner Sphere.
