Elson was a freeborn Nova Cat Elemental who was captured by the Wolf's Dragoons during the Clan Invasions.

Though he was now a Dragoon, he continued to hold Clan beliefs and loyalties and thought Colonel Jaime Wolf was a weak leader. He desired to take command of the Dragoons to return the unit to Clan ways, and to make them strong and purge them of the weakness that he believed Jaime Wolf instilled in them.

Elson Novacat slowly gained supporters, and when he felt their numbers were strong enough, he rallied to usurp Jaime Wolf's command, and used his followers and those who disliked Jaime to fight against him and any who backed him up.

Elson's support was strong, and his faction of the Dragoons nearly defeated Jaime's supporting side. Jaime's side barely won, but afterwards by Jaime's decision, Elson was returned to fighting status in the Dragoons in command of the Elemental Strike Cluster, though he had to vow to be a Dragoon for the Dragoons' ambitions, and no longer for the Clans.
