Star Colonel Dirk Radick is a ruthless and cunning man. He leads the three Trinaries of his skilled and ferocious, well known, elite and prestigious cluster - the Blood Drinkers. Dirk Radick believes instilling fear into his subordinates and punishing them severely pushes them to carry out his orders more swiftly and accurately. Fear to him, also breaks a wedge under the enemy and allows him more control. He also controls and manipulates others with his speech mannerisms, sly questioning and fake assumptions and often tests enemies and fellow warriors with it. Radick is impatient, and accepts little dallying or useless chat. He has a hot temper, and his subordinated try not to push it. He is often physical, and will hit, grab, or push around anyone who makes him unhappy. If his own subordinates fail him too severely, or let him down when he is emotional, he banishes them to the bandit caste. Dirk Radick hates freebirths and kills them when he has the chance, and never takes them bondsmen. Eccentricity is something Dirk Radick likes to display in order to help confuse, intimidate and bring fear to his enemies. He wears his hair unusually and in a strange style in order to bring fear to opponents. Long at the sides and short at the temples. His eyes often show as almost slits when he has a good plan. Dirk Radick saw an opportunity to take Toffen, a Ghost Bear world near the end closer to Terra. He desired to gain much honor and distinguishment in taking that world. He studied the information on who defended the world that was collected from The Watch. He thought Star Captain Angela Bekker would be a good warrior to take as bondsman, and he would have fun killing any freebirth warriors under her command. In order to act quickly, and to not be held back by superiors, Dirk Radick bypassed command and did not ask his Khan for permission to attack Toffen. He decided to attack quickly and agressively and overwelm the new inexperienced Ghost Bear trinary using lots of missile and ballistic weapons. He was sure he could defeat Angela Bekker's Stalking Bears trinary. Against his plans, Angela Bekker bid the whole continent of Graham, and decided to go for a long and drawn out war. She abandoned Fort Del Villar, disconnected the Hyperpulse Generator, and took all usable supplies with her forces. The Trial of Possession was fought, but it was Angela Bekker who was more sly, and she forced the Blood Drinkers not to have their way, by abandoning Fort Del Villar, disconnecting its HPG, and taking with her forces all the supplies and ammo in makeshift hidden storages, and hiding out and waiting to attack and pounce on Blood Drinker Star only when they were a single Star and not any more numerous. The Trial was long and painstaking, and the sides were close, but in the end Angela Bekker's Stalking Bears proved to be more determined and have better plans. Dirk Radick accepted hejira from Bekker and in frustration and failure, Radick and his forces left Toffen to await any punishment his Khan had. Dirk Radick's favorite 'Mech to pilot is the Executioner. |
