Carl is an older Elemental, old enough to be a solahma, though he has not become one yet. Carl was a Star Captain until Jake defeated him in a Trial of Position over who continues to hold that rank over the particular unit Carl commanded. Carl has a fierce scarred face, spikey hair, and very tanned skin.
